The research in the Laboratory for Multiscale Regenerative Technologies, directed by Sangeeta Bhatia, is dedicated to leveraging miniaturization tools from the world of semiconductor manufacturing to impact human health. We derive innovative ‘tiny technologies’ that interface living cells with synthetic systems, and enable new applications in tissue regeneration, stem cell differentiation, medical diagnostics and drug delivery. Our long-term goals are to improve cellular therapies for liver disease, develop microtechnology tools to systematically study living cells, and design multifunctional nanoparticles for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and other diseases.
