ONGOING OPPORTUNITIES

Prospective Graduate Students

The lab is always looking for exceptional students for graduate study. Current MIT graduate students interested in doing their thesis at LMRT should contact Dr. Bhatia directly with a curriculum vitae, names of three referees, and a summary of research experience and interests.

Undergraduate researchers (UROPs)

Volunteer UROP positions are often available across a broad range of topics. Students should be self-motivated and eager to broaden their horizons in bioengineering research. Interested MIT undergraduates should contact Dr. Heather Fleming with a short description of your area of interest, the time-frame you have available, and include your resume.

We will coordinate internally with lab members who are seeking to mentor a UROP, and will keep your information on a ‘wait list’ until a suitable mentor becomes available. At this time, you will be contacted directly to arrange for an in-person interview.

Postdoctoral / Research Scientist Candidates

We are an interdisciplinary group of bioengineers, chemists, and clinicians - and would love to bring additional hepatic expertise to our teams focused on liver regeneration and disease modeling. Please review our Training Philosophy and Values pages, and reach out to Dr. Heather Fleming if you love the liver, and seek to bring established micro- and nanoscale engineered tools to bear on biological, translationally-relevant research questions.

Additionally, we are considering an expansion of our research program that applies protease-based diagnostic tools to the detection of infectious disease, particularly in limited-resource settings. Inquires should include your cv, a brief research statement that conveys your particular interest in our group, and the anticipated timing of your availability.
